The objectives of The Farmers Club are:
  • To establish, maintain and conduct a club for the association of persons interested in agriculture, to provide club premises and other conveniences, and generally to afford to members and their friends all usual privileges, advantages, convenience and accommodation of a club.
  • To arrange and organise the delivery of papers, lectures, seminars and talks on agricultural and agricultural-related matters, whether delivered by members or any other person.
  • To provide and publish journals or other publications and otherwise to disseminate information and opinions to members.
  • To provide facilities of whatsoever nature for the use of members and their friends at agricultural shows and exhibitions.
  • To provide scholarships, bursaries or other financial accommodation and otherwise engage in activities calculated, directly or indirectly, to advance the cause of education and training in agriculture, whether of a technical, practical or academic nature.
  • To do all such other things as in the opinion of the Club are or may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
  • In the construction of the objects of the Club, no one of the objects above shall be deemed to be predominant among them, and no object shall be deemed to be subsidiary to another.

Membership of The Farmers Club shall consist of those engaged in farming or in industries or occupations ancillary to farming. At least two-thirds of new members elected to the Club should normally be persons directly engaged in farming but membership shall always be at the discretion of the Committee whose responsibility shall be to ensure that the majority of members of the Club are directly engaged in farming.

Every member shall, upon election and upon payment of the entrance fee and initial subscription, become entitled to the privileges of membership of the Club and be bound by its Rules.
