National Gallery

Tate Modern

St. Paul's Cathedral

The magnificent Baroque church designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1673. As the Cathedral of the capital city, St Paul's is the spiritual focus for the Nation. This is where people and events of overwhelming importance to the country have been celebrated, mourned and commemorated since the first Service took place in 1697.

South Bank Centre

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

The fabulous Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse designed in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his greatest plays. British Museum

Free to the world since 1753, the British Museum houses one of the greatest collections of human cultural history. Natural History Museum

Tower of London

The most impressive and best-preserved medieval castle in any European capital, the Tower of London and its individual buildings are of outstanding architectural and artistic significance. For over a thousand years the Tower has had a role in many events in world and British history. Now a World Heritage site, the crown jewels: crowns, sceptres, plate, and the two largest cut diamonds in the world are among many the objects in the collection that draw thousands of visitors every year.

Westminster Abbey

An architectural masterpiece of the 13th to 16th centuries, Westminster Abbey also presents a unique pageant of British history - the shrine of St Edward the Confessor, the tombs of kings and queens, and countless memorials to the famous and the great. It has been the setting for every Coronation since 1066 and for numerous other royal occasions. Today it is still a church dedicated to regular worship and to the celebration of great events in the life of the nation. Neither a cathedral nor a parish church, Westminster Abbey is a "Royal Peculiar" under the jurisdiction of a Dean and Chapter, subject only to the Sovereign.
