AGM Lunch 2019

Following the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the morning of 2 July 2019, we will follow with our traditional lunch which will be complimented by a guest speaker.  As has been a continuing theme at both the Oxford Farming and NFU conferences, the challenges of producing enough food for an increasing population within the earth’s natural resources whilst maintaining environmental balance are looming large.  In this vein, the Club is delighted to have secured Dr Fabrice DeClerk, who is the Science Director at EAT. In this role, Dr. DeClerck leads the development of EAT’s research and synthesis science working closely with EAT’s partners and programs as the interface between science and practice. Widely published, he is also the co-author of the EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet, Health, bringing together more than 30 world-leading scientists from across the globe to reach a scientific consensus that defines a healthy and sustainable diet.  The Commission delivered the first full scientific review of what constitutes a healthy diet from a sustainable food system, and which actions can support and speed up food system transformation.
