Monday Evening Lecture - 5 November 2018

THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL

MONDAY EVENING LECTURE – 5TH NOV 2018 – RT. HON. MICHAEL GOVE MP –SECRETARY OF STATE FOR ENVIRONMENT, FOOD AND RURAL AFFAIRS

Owing to the significant demand for places at the Monday evening lecture above and in order to allow as many people as possible to attend, I have moved the venue for this event from the Club premises, to the Gladstone Library in the Liberal Club (although these rooms are now owned by the Royal Horseguards Hotel).

This room can accommodate up to 300 people and with numbers for this event already over 200, this seemed like the right thing to do.

The venue is on the second floor using the entrance at No1 Whitehall Court (the main entrance to the National Liberal Club).

Farmers Club staff will be on hand to guide members to the appropriate rooms.

This has led to a couple of other minor changes. Tea and Coffee will now not be formally served at the club. Drinks and nibbles will now be served on completion of the lecture/Q&A session in the Reading and Writing room of the Liberal Club, which is the room next to the Gladstone Library.

I have received correspondence from Mr Gove’s office that he will also be joining members for drinks after the formal Lecture and Q&A until 7.30pm. May I remind members that these events are agreed under the auspices of ‘Chatham House’ rules, therefore members should not convey what they hear via social media. Our own Journal Editor will be producing an article for the Journal that follows the event. May I also ask that all members attending this event are seated by 5.55pm at the latest in order that we get a prompt start and maximise the available time.
