Cyril Costello retires after more than thirty years at the club

After 31 years of loyal service in the Club reception Cyril Costello is retiring. Almost an institution in his own right, Cyril has always been one who has given far more than he has taken and will be missed by members and staff alike.

Contributions to his departing gift amounted to a significant sum, which was presented by Chairman Jimmy McLean at the staff drinks reception in the Club on Thursday 11th December. Many of the Committee and staff were present to wish Cyril well. His final day in the Club is Friday 19th December.

“Cyril has, without fear of exaggeration, shown unbelievable loyalty and given wonderful service to the Club,” comments Chief Executive Stephen Skinner.

“To many the warm, chuckling welcome Cyril has always given everyone, without exception, is the Club. I for one will miss him enormously, but I know you will too.”

Colleagues from the Club were due to give Cyril a more personal farewell at the Staff Christmas Party, scheduled for Saturday 20th December at the prestigious Hotel Russell in London’s Russell Square.
