England’s Grand Slam victory in the Six Nations rugby tournament is to be celebrated in fine style at the Farmers Club’s special St George's Day Luncheon, where one of the game’s top officials is to be our guest speaker.
With the Six Nations trophy won and England’s first Grand Slam since 2003 secured in Paris, the Club is enormously fortunate to have attracted Ian Ritchie, Chief Executive of England’s Rugby Football Union, as our speaker and Guest of Honour.
Ian went to the RFU having previously been CEO of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and has thus been a central figure in much of English sport for some considerable time. Indeed, anyone who follows the England Rugby Team will know Ian has certainly had an interesting time over the past few months! He also played a key behind-the-scenes role in settling the European club rugby dispute in 2014, which at one time threatened to leave England isolated.
Our St George's Day Lunch in London’s hugely attractive Stationers' Hall is on Friday 22nd April, at 12 for 12:30pm.
